If you have long hair in our sweltering heat, tying it up is definitely a regular habit for you. However, your go-to hairstyle doesn’t have to be limited to a simple ponytail!

When you admire celebrities and influencers with flawlessly thick ponytails, you might be puzzled why yours doesn’t look as full.

Don’t worry – we have a simple guide on how to achieve that voluminous look with just a few easy steps!

Continue reading to discover how you can elevate your usual ponytail with just a single hairtie – no need for any special tools or accessories.

Smoothen Your Hair

Start by running a comb through your hair and pulling it back to determine the ponytail’s height.

For a more flattering look, you can tie the ponytail slightly higher up, but feel free to adjust it to your liking!

Ensure your hair is smooth by using a brush or your fingers to detangle it before pulling it back.

A looser ponytail gives off a casual and voluminous appearance, so don’t worry about tying it too tightly!

Separate Half of Your Ponytail

Next, grab your hairtie and tie your ponytail as usual, but leave out the last loop. For example, if you usually do three loops, stop at two.

Then, separate the top half of the ponytail from the bottom half and secure it with one loop, using the same hairtie!

This trick will add some extra height to your ponytail and create a gap between the two sections.

By boosting the height of your ponytail, you’ll achieve a fuller look, enhancing the overall volume of your hairstyle.

Gather the Rest of Your Hair

If you’re concerned about the gap in your ponytail showing, here’s a simple fix!

Instead of securing your hairtie right after tying the top half of your ponytail, use the hairtie to make one more loop around the entire ponytail.

This way, the hairtie will go around both the top and bottom halves of your ponytail.

By doing this, you’ll be able to join the top and bottom half of your ponytail together, preventing any awkward separation of your hair. And don’t worry, you’ll still maintain that beautiful volume created by the split ponytail!

To summarise, the final hairstyle will involve two regular loops around the entire ponytail, one loop around the top half, and one last loop around the entire ponytail again.

Frame Your Face With Loose Strands

To complete your hairstyle, add the final touches by gently loosening your hair.

Try giving a slight tug to the hair at the base of your ponytail, allowing it to have a soft and natural curve instead of lying flat against your scalp.

Another option is to pull out a few strands, using your baby hairs to delicately frame your face.

This additional step not only gives your face a slimmer appearance, but also creates a relaxed and effortless effect, making your hairstyle look flawlessly casual!
